If you are thinking about semester abroad in a Business School, ISCTE Business School is definitely an option to take into account. The teaching method privileges an approximate approach between students and teachers which facilitates the learning process. Besides that, this university has several groups and organizations to enroll outside studying activities that help students integrate into the campus environment and apply the knowledge acquired in classes into real-life cases in renowned companies. In general idea about living in Portugal, I was really impressed when i first arrived in Lisbon. The people here are friendly, I came here in exchange program with Ural federal and ISCTE in Lisbon. The access to the campus is easy because there's a subway called "Cidada Universitaria" cause this station in middle of many universities around and ISCTE is one of them.If you come here as an exchange or erasmus student, the teachers and professors are speaking English as well. In ISCTE there's a canteen put set menu everyday: one day fish, another chicken or meat. Also here there's group and individual assignments There are many European Erasmus students here because it is easy to access without a visa, only acceptance from university. The most student nations here are Germans, Polish and Italians.Portuguese is the main language. Most of the people here they know the basics of English. The Portuguese language is not so difficult but the issue is the accent.
Living costs in Portugal are lower than the European average, which is an important selling point for those students who would like to study abroad but cannot afford to spend too much. A meal at the University canteen can be as little as 3€, Room in a flat starting from 250€, Studio starting from 500€ and double room about 400€ but due to the high demand, you have to look for an apartment or room early like 2 or 3 months before especially if you want to stay in the city center.
The transportation card if you above 23 years old in smaller Lisbon 30€, For bigger Lisbon 40€ and all kind of transportation Metro, buses, tram and ferry boat. If less than 23 years the rate 22€ smaller Lisbon and 30€ great Lisbon. The average meal outside in a cafe or restaurant starts from 6€ for example half chicken with rice and french fries or salad and the drink or beer for 1€. The board surfing is the most popular sport due to the high waves reaches to 30 meters high, the people like to go watch it but you can start to learn it with professional surfers for 10-15€. The beaches here are really beautiful, its moderate weather in winter maximum +5 degree and in summer +35.While studying or after if you decided to live in Portugal, you can easy find a part time job in call center or waiter in bar or restaurant but the salaries here are not high starting from 900€ also the taxes here bit high more than 20%. But the English is mandatory more than B1 or B2 at least, another language is a plus. But to get a job you also need a residence permit, so you need to book appointment in "SEF" Foreigner office and bring the documents needed. For traveling around Portugal, you can find cheap tickets by Flixbus for 5€ one way to Porto or 8€ by train The day in Porto about 15€ in low season. The night life here in Portugal, they like bars there is bars in every street and also there's some clubs to dance called "Urban beach club" but it was closed due COVID-19 but now its working normally. The museums in Portugal, Usually they organise some workshops in museums its really interesting events if you like this kind of activities.
