Students of the International Autumn School visited manufacturing sites and attended master classes
44 students of leading universities took part in field visits to international and national companies in November within the framework of the International Autumn School «Sustainable Business Development: Responsible, Agile, Analytical», organised by the team of the office of the programme International Economics and Business.
They studied the processes of copper cathode production, evaluated the production capacities of the modern copper electrolysis plant at the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company.
Technological processes of the Uralelektromed company made a strong impression on the students.
A student at the German University of Applied Management (Mannheim, Germany), Mike Fickenscher noted the role of automated systems in the production of quality copper products.
Kalina Dimitrova (from the same university) stressed that the company takes care of the environment and successfully processes waste products:
«I visited a metallurgical company for the first time. I liked that they are very responsible for the environment, they are investing significant resources in the preservation of nature».
An Indian student Jimmi Arora thought that Uralelektromed had an ideal order: the production facilities were light, spacious, there was marking, and the working staff were dressed in special clothes.
The students got acquainted with the programme of sustainable development, reviewed the case for the implementation of 17 sustainable goals of the United Nations in international business during their visit to Unilever.
The master class on corporate social responsibility was held within the framework of the visit to the production of Coca — Cola HBC Russia.
The most delicious was a trip to the Ice Cream Company No. 3 where the participants tried ice cream and thought about promoting the brand abroad. Luisa Mosso (a student from the University of Turin) noted that ice cream in Russia is no worse than the famous Italian gelato.
Students from Russia, Germany, Italy, France, Switzerland, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Gambia, China, South Korea and other countries took part in the field trips. The school, conducted by the team of the office of the programme International Economics and Business has already been held 4 times. It is attracting an increasing number of participants from different countries each year, but the most interesting is that the students of the programme are directly involved in the preparation of the school!
