The anniversary school «Sustainable Business Development: Smart Future for All» will take place on November 10-18
X (V) International Autumn School "Sustainable Business Development: Smart Future for All" starts at Ural Federal University. Authors and facilitators of the programme consist of the project team of BA International Economics and Business and GSEM International Affairs Office.
The School history dates back to 2007 when the first international conference "Integration of Russia into the World Economy" was held. That time a project group of Russian and international students of bachelor’s programme International Economics for the first time held the conference and sessions on business competences development.
2007, Sandra Hoedl (Germany): “I`ve participated in a few projects in Russia when was on exchange semester, but the conference was obviously the highlight. I would recommend everyone in International Business to get a touch of real business off the beaten track. Ekaterinburg was great experience for my future career.”
2009, Nathan Canen (Brazil): “It was absolutely amazing opportunity to meet so many Russian and international scholars in the heart of Russia, great opportunity to present the paper and to communicate some business ideas to corporates of a high level.”
Since 2012, such project work has been allocated to a standalone school for Sustainable Business Development in English for international and Russian students that allows to celebrate the X (V) anniversary of the project. Since launching the project, students of 42 nationalities from 36 countries have participated in the School.
2012, Este Firbi, (Brazil-Italy): “We were absolutely smashed by rich multicultural interaction with very intense and fruitful work both with academic and business wise highlights.”
2013, David Stahmann (Germany): “A wonderful experience, all the lectures within the school were presented innovatively and atypically for such events.”
Tutors of the school were represented by professors, coaches and businessmen from almost all parts of the world (Canada, Brazil, EU, Australia, New Zealand, China). The project gathered corporate partners of banking, finance, consumer goods manufacturing and heavy equipment industry, FMCG, audit and consulting, telecommunications.
Participants are traditionally offered a daily interactive educational programme with participation of international trainers and corporate field visits with master classes and case studies.

2016, Mike Fickenscher (Germany): “This opportunity would also be a first step towards my late career goal to work as a PR/IR or marketing professional for a Russian company which is active in Germany/Europe or vice versa. Going to Yekaterinburg fits this context perfectly when looking at one of its founders.”
The Autumn School has been designed to promote the exchange of knowledge in the field of global business sustainable development, create opportunities for international experience of positive changes, as well as allow participants to work with smart trends, socially responsible business technologies and effective innovations.
2017, Geesan Suh (Korea): “I had an internship at one Korean international trading company. At that time, I began to be interested in businesses in Russia and CIS countries. So I think this programme gave me extensive knowledge on how to work with Russian companies and how to make it in a sustainable way.”
In 2018, 82 students from 31 countries from all over the world applied for the School. Students from 18 countries passed the selection and would participate in the programme: Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Mexico, Indonesia, Nigeria, Egypt, Ghana, Sudan, Pakistan, Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Croatia, the USA, and Russia. Professors and corporations from Spain, Germany, Italy, Australia, France and Russia will conduct interactive trainings as part of the School.
Participants of the Autumn School 2018 will solve cases in such corporate partners of BA programme International Economics and Business as Sberbank, Unilever, Coca-Cola and other large international companies. The students will also offer solutions for the smart region EXPO-2025.
The Autumn School is focused on the development of professional skills in business and technological management, as well as cross-cultural adaptability and research skills. Students will take part in the traditional round table "Value Сo-creation and Quality Assurance in Globally Approved Business Education" at the Governor’s residence during the business day of the conference "Russian Regions in the Focus of Changes". Together with the world's leading business schools and corporate partners, they will discuss future career paths and competencies necessary for a successful career.
At the end of the School, the students will prepare and present projects to the jury of corporate partners and international researchers. In addition, students will receive certificates (5 ECTS) and gifts.
