Our response to Coronavirus in action
In March, the intensive module International Monetary and Credit Relations was conducted with the use of digital interactive technologies due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Prof. Darko Vikovic and Assistant Alexander Ishukov taught an intensive module in English at the coworking space of GSEM. The students examined special features of financial institutions, analyzed economic effect of decision-making in the financial markets.
At the seminars, the students participated in business games, solved cases and prepared analytical reports on topical issues, such as «Brexit impact on financial relations between the UK and the EU» and «Influence of the Coronavirus pandemic on international credit relations».
Students shared their experience: Felix Dementyev commented that a variety of professional courses taught by international professors helps to get an education that is relevant and follows the latest developments in their subject area, and seminars with case studies allow for deep understanding of each topic. Kristina Artemyeva thinks that it is very important that a lecturer has international teaching experience as it raises the trust level and helps to look at things from a different perspective.
Alexander Ishukov, one of the course lecturers, noted:
«The lectures taught online appear to be no less interactive than offline, students had the chance to communicate with the lecturer, ask questions and complete the tasks. This experiment showed that we are ready for any learning formats!»
Please note that starting from March 23rd, GSEM is switching to online teaching and learning on the UrFU platform of electronic education.
