InCulture Fest-2020 has brought more than 30 GSEM students from 13 countries together!
GSEM UrFU has started InCulture Fest-2020, International Cross-cultural Festival for GSEM international students aimed at presenting the cultural diversity and peculiarities of the countries, students from which are studying at GSEM. Another goal of the InCulture FEST-2020 is to create more opportunities for international students’ integration and networking.
The students have created 10 national teams to present videos about the unique culture of each country. According to the concept of the festival, the students benefit not only from their project teamwork and networking, but as well from GSEM professors giving them professional insights about how to present the culture and what is the most important in cross-cultural communications.
The students have already e-met two tutors with a brief interactive lectures: prof. Ekaterina Demchenko, the head of GSEM International Affairs Office, held a kick-off meeting and explained what the term “culture” means and what elements it consists of to be included in video; and prof. Victoria Beliaeva, an advisor of GSEM director on internationalization, who demonstrated the dimensions of national culture which impact cross-cultural management and communications. The tutors had individual meetings with each team to answer their questions about culture and presentations.
Other interesting events of the festival include another one meeting with the tutor prof. Elizaveta Golousova to explore the topic of Race and Culture Diversity, stereotyping, cross-cultural communication, cultural identity, importance of gender consideration.
And this is not everything - InCulture Fest-2020 will be accompanied by experts of BeBrand Group. On October 29 the experts host a workshop on how to make a creative amateur video with overview of the best examples and apps. The teams will have an opportunity to receive expert recommendations on their video project.
It is worth noting that the most part of BeBrand staff consists of UrFU graduates. BeBrand is a communication group of companies producing comprehensive business solutions for their clients through the possibilities of internal and marketing communications, business and public events in the market of the Ural region.
In the second week of November the teams will present the outcomes of their project work. The videos will be available at GSEM YouTube channel - we invite everybody to visit, watch and enjoy international cultural diversity!
