International audience of students learnt more about economic integration and sustainable development
International Economics and Business programme lecturers Alexander Ishukov and Yana Lopatkova presented their mini-courses to the students of the University of Szeged in the 13th International Week. Geographically there were representatives from the UK, Japan, Hungary, Russia, Pakistan, India, Turkey, Slovakia, Laos, Mongolia and other countries.
The interactive mini-course "International Economic Integration", developed by Alexander Ishukov, included theoretical and practical aspects of integration processes and mechanisms for evaluating the level of economic development in integration groups, consideration of new integration trends in the context of globalization, a comprehensive analysis of the potential of the European Union and the Eurasian Economic Union, Alexander noted the active involvement of students in the classes, interesting questions about the content, exchange of views on actual topics, as well as the interest of students to join international projects of International Economics and Business programme. Students shared their impressions:
Jodie Tomlinson (UK):
«I thoroughly enjoyed the mini course material, I am only disappointed by the fact it was only two sessions. Alexander was very enthusiastic and informative which was conveyed through his teaching of the subject topics».
Bernadett Papp (Hungary):
«Thank you, the course was highly enjoyable. The most useful part was that I learnt about integrations other than the EU. Those ones don't really appear in our courses here in Szeged so mostly the only thing I knew about them was that they exist. I also liked the statistics parts, those are always appreciated because I love statistics».
Yana Lopatkova, as part of the mini-course “Spotlight on Sustainable Development: transformations of global economy and business involvement”, spoke about the main milestones of sustainable development, demonstrated country differences in achieving the SDGs, examined the impact of business on achieving sustainable development, business models and provided some successful business cases. Also, the lecturer and students discussed the contribution of each of us to the Agenda 2030.
«It is a great honor for me to take part in the Szeged University event and get my first teaching experience at the international level. It is important that students note the relevance and necessity of studying the topic of sustainable development of the world economy. The guys also showed a high interest in the interactive tasks of the course, answered all questions, shared their opinions and experiences. In addition, many students expressed a desire to take part in the International Autumn School "Sustainable Business Development: A Smart Future for All", I look forward to new meetings with future ambassadors of sustainable development» - commented Yana Lopatkova
Iori Iwamoto (Japan)
«I was able to learn about knowledge and charm of SDGs that I didn't know, so that was very interesting».
The organizers of the 13th International Week also conducted a training on gamification, a culinary master class and an online tour of the city of Szeged. According to the results of the mini-courses, the lecturers will receive international certificates.
