The university and the management company of the special economic zone agreed on cooperation
Students of the School took part in the hackathon, which was held on May 12-13 on the basis of the Graduate School of Economics and Management UrFU together with the management company of the special economic zone of industrial production type "Titanium Valley". 50 students of the educational programmes “Public Relations and Advertising" and "Public Administration" of GSEM UrFU joined the hackathon.
Students had to develop strategies for two cases: how to reduce the outflow of the able-bodied population and increase the human potential of the Verkhnaya Salda urban district and how to promote the Titanium Valley brand.
The most interesting idea in the track for developing a strategy for attracting new personnel was the creation of a multifunctional training center on the territory of the "Titanium Valley", which would include a technopark for schoolchildren and students, as well as a cluster professional center for supporting employees of residents of the valley from school to retirement age.
In the brand promotion track, the winning team proposed the company's positioning, which is based on the idea of an open and trusting relationship between the "Titanium Valley" brand and its audience. The students suggested drawing a parallel between the properties of titanium and the approach to work in Titanium Valley. The guys described a number of potential segments of the target audience of Titanium Valley, ranging from citizens of Verkhnyaya Salda to investors and residents. A comprehensive action plan and a set of tools were proposed to work with each of the target segments.
In addition, as part of the hackathon, an agreement was signed between UrFU and the management company of the "Titanium Valley".
"This agreement is the beginning of a great joint path of the University and the "Titanium Valley". We understand that our organizations can help each other develop. In the future, we would like to involve partners in the implementation of project training, mentoring and other mechanisms of practice-oriented learning of students, " said Andrey Sozykin, Vice-Rector of UrFU for the development of educational activities.
According to him, the hackathon showed that despite the fact that the "Titanium Valley" is a complex of industrial enterprises, students of socio — economic profile can also successfully participate in the development of a special economic zone.
