A graduation ceremony of "International Economics and Business" programme of GSEM UrFU was broadcasted to a number of countries
Last Saturday, 4th year students - current graduates of the "International Economics and Business" programme of GSEM, which leads the rating of the best educational programmes of UrFU, received diplomas and certificates from EFMD (European Foundation for Management Development). Foreign students and parents of alumni joined the event in a live broadcast format.
73 students defended their graduation theses in English, 18 of them graduated from the double-degree programme of UrFU and the KEDGE business school (France) - 5th in the ranking of leading European business schools, holder of the "triple crown" of international accreditations. It is the first graduation of 10 French KEDGE students.
70% of students defended their diplomas with excellent marks, and 18% of graduates received diplomas with honors. The strengths of the graduates of the IEB program are strong analytical competencies and the ability to forecast, openness to change, innovation, cross-cultural adaptability and communication skills, as well as professional knowledge of a foreign language.
Graduates of 2021 confirm the career tracks of the IEB programme: most of yesterday's students already work in their specialty or have job offers from large international and regional companies. Some of the IEB alumni have already been accepted for master's programmes in <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:country-region w:st="on">Russia</st1:country-region></st1:place> and abroad.
The IEB graduates received a lot of wishes from the top-management of UrFU and GSEM, the professors of the programme and corporate partners.
Viktor Koksharov, Rector of UrFU, noted that for the last 2 years the world has been under the influence of constant changes, but current graduates have key competencies, are flexible and are ready for global changes. The rector also wished not to lose his student enthusiasm and be proud of graduating from UrFU. Dmitry Tolmachev, director of GSEM, quoting the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:city w:st="on">Cambridge</st1:city></st1:place> professor M. Belbin, wished the graduates to correctly correlate ambitions, knowledge and behavior for further success in their careers.
Over the last 4 years, the IEB program together with students, has shared an exciting path - there has been an increase in the internationalisation of the programme, the successful launch of a double degree programme with the KEDGE business school, more than 110 master classes with corporate partners, the transition to a distance learning form for 1.5 years has been successfully implemented and much more! I wish the IEB graduates to cope professionally with modern challenges - commented Zhanna Belyaeva, GSEM Academic Director, BA International Economics and Business Programme director
The IEB professors shared wishes and gave several life hacks on career building. Sharky, the symbol of the IEB programme, predicted the next business steps to the graduates. Graduates paid tribute to the brightest events in 4 years, and outlined good wishes to the IEB programme and their fellow students.
The IEB programme’ office raffled prizes - branded hoodies and masks. Congratulations to the best analytical ‘business sharks’ of 2021 of the "International Economics and Business Programme '' of GSEM UrFU, we wish you success in the big oceans!
