Montpellier Business School and GSEM UrFU organized joint classes
For the second year, a number of joint Russian-French classes has been held in the context of "International Monetary Relations" and "International Financial Markets" (France) courses. The speakers were lecturer of the Montpellier Business School Li Li, and senior lecturer of "International Economics and Business" programme Alexander Ishukov. This year, more than 100 students from 19 countries of the world joined the classes.
Professor Li Li notes:
“It is an opportunity for students from different cultures to learn and discuss international finance together. I am impressed by the students of Ural Federal University for their active participation in class discussion and calculation.”
“The content and structure of last year's classes have been qualitatively improved and tested this semester. The absolute record for the number of participants in joint classes was achieved, and the internationality of the teams expanded significantly. Students from Europe, North America, Asia, Latin America and Africa showed a high level of activity. The variety and level of creativity of ideas was a great pleasure. We are pleased to partner with the Montpellier Business School and will continue to implement new joint ideas,” says senior lecturer, "International Economics and Business" programme director's assistant Alexander Ishukov.
The main topic of classes was the foreign exchange markets and associated risks. Students got a clear view about key players, learned the features of foreign exchange transactions and how to make long-term decisions about investing in foreign markets. The classes were divided into a theoretical part with online quizzes, case-study and problem-solving assignments. Most of the time, students collaborated in mixed teams from 2 schools.
Students shared their impressions of the classes. For example, Diego Cuq (Chile) highlighted the opportunity to interact with international students in a dynamic and fun way. Student Mahdi Cheour (Tunisia) is delighted with the diversity and different perspectives of the students. Alena Serebrinnikova would like more such online classes with different universities.

It was great to discuss cases with students from other countries, to get their opinion. It is also a good practice to improve your English proficiency. Thank you for such informative content.
