A discussion was held within the framework of the conference "Spring Research Days"
As part of the international conference “Spring Research Days”, two events were held related to the general topic of analyzing current trends and development prospects for Russian companies and industries: the section "Impact of Global Challenges on Companies and Industries" and a lecture by Maxim Fokeev, alumnus of the bachelor programme “International and Corporate Management” "The life of companies in a three-year zone of turbulence".
Among the participants were university professors and bachelor master students of GSEM UrFU. Speakers and listeners were primarily concerned with the development of Russian companies under the consequences of complex sanctions, as well as the possibility of using international experience to overcome its. Thus, in discussing the prospects of the aviation industry, the cases of Aeroflot, Chinese companies specializing in cargo transportation and the Iranian aviation industry were presented.
The participants touched upon the development of small and medium-sized businesses, not only as the most vulnerable sector of the economy, but also discussed the possible potential of medium-sized companies as drivers of development in the New Normal. A new topic for the conference was touched upon - the production of services by Russian industrial companies (servicing) and growth prospects in the knowledge-intensive sectors.
In addition, students were concerned about the relationship between education and employment: the authors studied the attitude of the student audience in Russia and abroad to the extent to which the knowledge, skills and abilities acquired at the university can be in demand by employers.
