Students actively participate in master classes from corporate partners
The marathon of analytical and digital competencies was opened by the representatives of Unilever-Rus LLC. First-year students of bachelor’s programme “International Economics and Business” and schoolchildren learned what the FMCG industry is and how to plan production processes using digital technologies in the current environment.
Philip Makedonsky, Head of Production Planning at Unilever, 2017 graduate of “International Economics and Business” said: “It's great to see so many students and schoolchildren who are interested in Unilever's activities. Separately, it is worth noting the teams that represented the solution of our gaming business problems, all solutions turned out to be creative and applicable in solving our daily issues. We will continue to cooperate to help students in their career track.”
The marathon of beauty analytics master classes with Gold Apple continued. The creative team of Gold Apple revealed completely new aspects of beauty: corporate culture, ESG concept, data-driven approach.
"It was very interesting for us to find out how such a "beautiful" company works from the inside, we were delighted with the organization's attitude to employees and care for them. The speakers presented interesting tasks that allow you to present yourself as a business analyst. I was also impressed by the headquarters, we hope to get the opportunity to go there on excursions and do an internship in the future!", shared Evgenia Ikonnikova, 1st year student of the programme “International Economics and Business”
Alexey Sladkov, Head of the analytics department of Gold Apple, showed with practical examples which metrics and key performance indicators are used when making business decisions. Also, students and schoolchildren tried themselves as beauty industry analysts, enthusiastically solving the problems of client analytics and network inventory.
“Many thanks to UrFU team for the opportunity to tell about our company. It was a joy to see guys interested in analytics, whose eyes burned when we set them tasks close to daily practice. There is a team and competitive spirit. However, the questions were varied. Someone was interested in how we work with parallel imports, and someone was interested in how our data storage structure is arranged, which, in my opinion, indicates a different interest among the students. In the future, from cooperation with colleagues from UrFU, we can get employees for completely different areas of the company's activities, and the guys will find interesting tasks and challenges in Gold Apple, ”commented Alexey Sladkov, Head of the analytics department of Gold Apple.
Zhanna Belyaeva, Head of the programme “International Economics and Business”, noted: “It’s nice that the speakers, using specific examples of professional growth and daily tasks, showed why economists need “all these macros”, Python, optimization methods, as well as soft skills in work. You can feel the continuity of generations - the UrFU Case Club held a super master class on financial analytics for students and schoolchildren!”
