Students got a fast track for an internship
Traditionally, Unilever-Rus, the largest employer in the FMCG industry, has joined the implementation of the course "International Business" at GSEM bachelor's programme “International Economics and Business ".
For 3rd year students of the program, a lecture was held on the topic “Production Planning and Digital Factory”, which was conducted by Ekaterina Grebneva, a production planning specialist at Unilever-Rus, a graduate of the 2021 program. During the lesson, students were able to try themselves in solving mini-cases and get feedback. In addition, students of the programme became winners in the Unilever Supply Chain Academy, where they learned about the peculiarities of the factory in an FMCG company, talked with company leaders, and got a fast track for the internship program as a result.
“This is an incredible project, the online program from Unilever was remembered for its interactive application that allowed you to track all stages of production and solve real problems! We analyzed the entire production process in detail, from the receipt of raw materials and materials to the warehouse and ending with the shipment of finished products. The tasks allowed not only to thoroughly study the technologies of industry 4.0, but also to test the chatbot neural network (GPT), which has been sensational in recent months. We became the owners of Fast-track, which opens up opportunities for internships in Unilever, and a nice bonus was a certificate to their corporate store. We were glad to get to know the company better and look forward to further cooperation,” commented Anna Rozanova, 3rd year student of the International Economics and Business programme.
Representatives of the company invited the most active and involved students on an excursion - for them, a lecture within the course "International Business" was held on the territory of the factory "Kalina". The guys had a unique chance to see the whole process of creating products in real time.
Ekaterina Lipina, 3rd year student of the International Economics and Business programme, shared her impressions: “Everyone really enjoyed the tour! We were told in detail about how the company works, what stages the production consists of. Everyone especially remembers the visit to the R&D department. There we were given a small master class on the professional classification of aromas, analysis of smells and talked about the causes of current trends in the market. Moreover, we were not only told about the process of analyzing skin types and hair structure to develop recipes, but also showed the practical use of special devices for conducting research on those who wish. It was also very interesting for us to see the automated processes of manufacturing, packaging and labeling of products live. At the end of the tour, everyone was given gifts and told about the opportunities for internships in different departments.”
Unilever is a long-term partner of GSEM UrFU, bachelor students and graduates of International Economics and Business program traditionally take internships in the company.
