Corporate partners supported new projects of digitalization and internationalization of the development of the top program of GSEM UrFU
A meeting of the international expert council of the program "International Economics and Business" took place the day before. The main purpose of the meeting of top management representatives of 15 leading partner companies was to identify priority development projects for the labor market with a 3-5 year horizon.
Daniil Sandler, UrFU First Vice-Rector for Economics and Strategic Development, opening the meetings, noted that the program " International Economics and Business " is the best bachelor’s programme in UrFU in terms of a large number of qualitative and quantitative indicators, and continues to improve continuously: "We support the expansion of practice-oriented modules , including through the use of endowment tools and financing of additional student education”.
Members of the program's international advisory board emphasized the importance of international and ESGD experience for starting an analyst's professional career and highlighted a number of benefits in the updated program profile.
Dmitry Tolmachev, Director of GSEM UrFU, also emphasized the effectiveness of the programme: “The program is a benchmark. Using everything we have gained and continuing to actively develop further, we manage to maintain our positions and achieve high results despite the current challenges.”
There was a productive discussion of the plan for the participation of Council members in the implementation of the Program and the possibilities of supporting students. The participants in the discussion approved further ways of cooperation and areas of interaction within the framework of project-based learning for the children to quickly adapt to business realities, end-to-end technologies and digital analytics. At the same time, experts have not forgotten about human well-being and compliance with customer experience!
Zhanna Belyaeva, Head of the International Economics and Business program, presented the results of the year, noting: “The foundation that was laid, namely: 30-year academic history, digital competencies, integration of 4 professional standards, 5-year EFMD accreditation, annually a confirmed ISO quality certificate, the internationalization of education standards and the possibility of obtaining double degrees, the presence of an alumni club in more than 48 countries, the constant updating of the course content to meet market demands, allowed the program to be ready for successful student learning in challenging times. However, the most important success factor is close work with alumni and corporate partners. It is this integration and networking that is the key to our success, the relevance of knowledge and value proposition.”
Olesya Kalmykova, program graduate, director of the marketing department of PJSC CB "Ural Bank for Reconstruction and Development" and Oleg Kozhurov, program graduate, Deputy General Director for Foreign Economic Activity LLC “SIMA-LAND”, noted the changes and tremendous progress of the program, confirming the formats of partnership and support students this year.
All speakers agreed on the assessment of the key competencies of a modern international economist: technological leadership, the ability to create and develop cross-cultural teams, flexibility, innovation and self-development for a person in the era of artificial intelligence. It is in these areas that students will be implementing projects from September 1, 2023 with the participation of: PJSC Sberbank, VTB, Technologies of Trust, SKB-Kontur, Lifemart and other partners.
