Sosa Gonzalo shares his experience of studying a double degree programme at the Pforzheim University (Germany)
Recently we met with Gonzalo Sosa, a graduate of the double degree program "International Economics and Business " from Ecuador. He shared his experience of studying a double degree programme at the Pforzheim University, visiting us after a year and a half of studying in Germany.
First, we found out why Gonzalo chose Russia and the educational programme " International Economics and Business " for study:
“When I finished school, I wanted to learn languages and live in another country. My friend recommended to come to Russia, and it became interesting to me! Besides, my dad is a businessman, I wanted to learn everything about business and economics in the international sphere. Therefore, I decided to study at " International Economics and Business"! It was great decision! Our program gives the most necessary knowledge and there are cool international opportunities - to go for an exchange semester and study under the double degree diploma. This is a great opportunity to visit different parts of the world, meet businesses and people from different countries. I can name three key features of the IEB programme - the challenge (you will have to study hard), career growth and internationalization. I will be happy to join the World Alumni Club.”
Gonzalo also told about the features and the most vivid impressions of studying in Pforzheim:
“Pforzheim University is an internationally accredited AACSB university that delivers excellence in international career building and global networking. As for the features, firstly, the educational system is different - there are no homework assignments, no projects, there is a final exam, on which the grade depends. At the beginning it was difficult for me, but then I noticed that I was able to quickly adapt to such a system. Secondly, communication with students from around the world - we studied together, prepared for the final events in various disciplines, traveled, had a lot of fun, went to parties on Fridays! It was cool!"
In addition, studying on the program implies a mandatory internship for several months:
“My internship was in an international company in Baden-Baden. A good experience that helped me practice all the knowledge gained on the program and understand the cultures of different countries more. So, for example, my communication with clients from France was completely different from communication with German clients.”
