Bachelor Degree Programme «International Economics and Business» is EPAS (European Program Accreditation System) accredited by EFMD in 2015 to become the only one outside Moscow and StPetersburg in Russia. We continue the story about the sections held as part of the Spring Days of Science GSEM UrFU
On April 23 the panel discussion «The New Normal International Economics and Business» was held within the frame of the International Conference Spring Research Days of GSEM under the leadership of Zhanna Belyaeva, PhD, GSEM Academic Director, BA International Economics and Business Programme director. Russian and foreign participants presented scientific works of a wide range of areas related to current topics of the development of the global economy in offline and online mode.
Students analysed the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the aspects of the global economy and business, discussed migration processes, considered digitalisation as a driver and anti-driver for the development of the global economy, assessed modern forms and models of business, ways of internalisation and global value chains. The participants presented research on cross-cultural, gender aspects of international business, as well as corporate cultures and structures. The speakers researched key issues of the world economy and international business through the prism of statistical, econometric, case analysis.
Members of the international academic and corporate jury, including leading experts from Deloitte CIS Alexey Samoilenko and Anastasia Chernega (a graduate of the IEB programme), Senior Researcher Amin Sokhanvar, Professor Elena Frolova, Associate Professor Natalia Davidson, Assistant Lecturers Yana Lopatkova and Alexander Ishukov, asked questions and gave useful tips.

The jury particularly valued the research contribution of Lilit Danielyan, who presented an econometric analysis of gender diversity in boards of directors and its impact on business performance.
Experts from Deloitte CIS commended several research papers: a report on ‘Non-Financial Stimulus for Business in BRICS Markets’ written by third year student Polina Slukina, and a group project on the ‘Impact of the Pandemic on Financial Markets’ prepared by third year students Daria Sazhina, Anna Baklushina, Svetlana Yarovaya, Polina Slukina, Anastasia Kozlova and Evgenia Krayushkina
