Bachelor Degree Programme «International Economics and Business» is EPAS (European Program Accreditation System) accredited by EFMD in 2015 to become the only one outside Moscow and StPetersburg in Russia. Zhanna Belyayeva went to McGill University (Montreal, Canada) to establish academic connections
Zhanna Belyaeva, Academic Director of the School of Management and Interdisciplinary Research at the Graduate School of Economics and Management, delivered a lecture course to McGill University graduates. She told students how to determine the right boundaries and speed of internationalization.
“Graduates from McGill University are people with work experience and study in different countries. They manage to do all this during their studies,” says Zhanna Belyaeva. - As part of the International Business Strategies course, 27 undergraduates in five groups developed innovative product ideas to create global value chains in international markets. In interactive classes, students substantiated the business models of their companies in developed and fast-growing markets.”
According to Belyaeva, the focus of the course was the inclusion of topics on the features of doing business in Russia and with Russian international companies.
“The listeners were impressed by the quality of teamwork and the depth of case studies. It is surprising that some of the interactive teaching methods were not familiar to students of such a prestigious program, ”says Zhanna Belyaeva.
McGill University is a state research university, founded in 1821. Located in Montreal, it is the oldest and most famous university in Canada. McGill is in the list of the top universities in the world (35th in the QS ranking). Zhanna Belyaeva also spoke at a meeting of a research group on international strategies and sustainable business development at the School of Management of the University of Quebec (Montreal).
“This is the largest university in Canada, occupying a leading position in the education market,” the teacher explains. “I presented research on the role of universities in shaping a smart environment, as well as on the features of strategic management modeling in the development of flexible models of international business.”
The results of the study are presented in the Journal of International Management. Together with colleagues, Zhanna Belyaeva discussed the possibilities of academic exchanges and internships for students of GSEM, as well as joint research tasks.
“The University of Quebec aims at joint research and educational projects with Graduate School of Economics and Management of UrFU. As a result of meetings with the heads of departments of the business school, a plan has been outlined for academic, publication and scientific cooperation at the undergraduate, graduate and MBA programs,” explains Zhanna Belyaeva.
