Bachelor Degree Programme «International Economics and Business» is EPAS (European Program Accreditation System) accredited by EFMD in 2015 to become the only one outside Moscow and StPetersburg in Russia. This accreditation confirms that the programme meets international standards of business education and confers greater credibility on its graduate’s degree. For European universities, as well as for many foreign employers international accreditation is a sign confirming the graduate’s professional qualification.

On the eve there was the meeting of the Expert Council and Career Guidance Day of the «International Economics and Business» programme
GSEM representatives and corporate partners designed promising models of demanded business education. The International Expert Council of the «International Economics and Business» programme took place recently/Council members Ekaterina Vlasova — Marketing Director of Unilever, Sergey Lachugin — Deputy Director of the Sverdlovsk Head Office of the Ural Bank of Sberbank, Vitaly Milovanov — Director of the Ural Branch of Raiffeisenbank, Alena Mikhailova — Area Director of «Philip Morris Sales and Marketing» , Maxim Kuznetsov — Director of MGM-Group, Dmitry Tolmachev — GSEM Director, Elena Avramenko - First Deputy Director of SEM GSEM, Zhanna Belyaeva — Programme Director and Academic Director of SMIS GSEM, Ekaterina Demchenko — Director of the GSEM International Affairs Office, Daria Matusevich — Director of the GSEM Career Center, as well as teachers and students of the programme.
Dmitry Tolmachev noted the importance of the experience of international accreditation of «International Economics and Business» programme for the further strategic development of the Graduate School of Economics and Management. Zhanna Belyaeva shared the steps for the transformation of the paradigm of the educational approach: about active teaching methods, targeting employers in the digital environment, constantly improving quality and involving graduates.
During the meeting issues of grant support for talented students, mechanisms for supporting scientifically and practice-oriented individualized student development tracks were discussed. A project-modular approach to training with the inclusion of foreign academic and corporate partners in the model of training and assessing the quality of acquired knowledge is already implemented in the programme.
Vitaly Milovanov, director of the Ural branch of Raiffeisenbank, said that when recruiting for the team, he would prefer to choose students with a high score and excellent academic performance, because they are aimed at achievement and winning as part of the work process.
In the Expert Council meeting, a plan has already been approved for the traditional projects of the programme, including the International autumn school «Sustainable Business Development», Intellectual Games of Economists, Partner Days, Career Guidance for students, as well as a long-term plan of new events that will improve the quality of the educational environment for a variety of stakeholders of the programme.
The graduate of IEB programme, Maxim Kuznetsov, director of MGM-Group noted:
«Like 30 years ago, the programme is very popular and trains unique strong leaders in international base. Training skills and mentoring are highlighted in the programme. It is very difficult to compete for the graduates employment. The only way is to supervise from junior courses and pull them into the specifics of enterprises, which top companies are already doing».
Also a traditional Career Guidance meeting was held for 1st year students of the «International Economics and Business» programme. This year, students were oriented by representatives of leading Russian and foreign companies - Unilever, Raiffeisenbank, Sberbank.
Representatives of the companies told about the work and opportunities of the companies, the necessary skills for a successful career. Students took part in interactive master classes and solving business cases from companies, as well as asked interesting questions. Following the meeting, students shared their impressions of meeting with companies and received memorable gifts from partners.
